ACCESSIBILITY

our website is designed and formatted to maximise usability from people using screen readers, keyboard users and people with learning requirements. clavmag’s content is free to browse. our competitions and submissions are free to enter. when we have events, they will be free to attend. the grammar on clavmag is ‘bad’. we do not use capital letters. that is because writing doesn’t always need to be proofread to have an impact, and everyone should feel able to write, no matter whether they know how to use a semicolin (no one does!!). clavmag’s content is written in plain English. however, we occasionally use queer terminology which may be not be accessible to all. we recommend the following sources:

INCLUSIVITY

clavmag’s goal is to share writing by queer people with everyone, in order to rebalance the under-representation of queer literature in the public sphere. clavmag is a writing collective. we want this to be a space in which every queer person feels comfortable and confident in submitting their work. to that end, we feel it is important to acknowledge our own privilege as white, middle class and cis(ish), and what this has given us in terms of our capacity to launch this magazine. while we are in control of the site and the social platforms, clavmag is about centralising the writing of queer people and we are committed to publishing writing from marginalised people within the queer community. while we currently have no money to pay contributors, we believe unpaid labour is fucked and are working out ways to pay you all as soon as we can. 💸💸💸 (for context, we are running clavmag entirely off our own backs and while working full-time jobs and part-time studies).

we want clavmag to be as accessible and inclusive as possible. we will probably make mistakes, and although they will be our responsibility, not yours, please get in touch and hold us to account.

if you require content from this website in any other format, please email us at info@clavmag.com.
